Job Search Site Lensa Reveals In-Demand and High-Paying Professions in the US
Living in the United States continues to become more expensive every year, despite the recent slowdown in inflation. To help job seekers identify in-demand and high-paying professions, job search site Lensa analyzed which skilled occupations had the most job openings and competitive salaries.
Lensa identified ten professions that make significantly more than the US median annual income of $54,132, with jobs in the healthcare industry taking the top spots due to the urgent need for more workers. Physician assistants and nurse practitioners ranked first and second, respectively, with median salaries in the six figures. The American Hospital Association estimates that the industry will need to hire at least 200,000 nurses annually to meet the needs of patients, providing ample opportunities for those seeking a career in healthcare.
Although the tech industry has experienced waves of layoffs this year, high-paying jobs in software engineering and software development still made Lensa’s list, ranking fourth and fifth.
