Uber Expands Green Ride Options with EV-Only Feature

Uber is ramping up its push for greener rides. On Tuesday, the ride-sharing giant revealed new initiatives to promote electric vehicle (EV) use on its platform. Riders can now exclusively select EVs through an all-electric version of Uber Green, moving away from previous hybrid-inclusive options.

Additionally, Uber is rolling out a feature allowing riders to prioritize an EV when the wait time is only a few minutes longer than a standard UberX. If the wait for an EV is significantly longer, the app will default to gas-powered vehicles. The move reflects Uber’s broader strategy to lower emissions while providing convenient, eco-friendly choices for riders.
