Canva Faces Backlash Over Steep Subscription Price Hikes

Canva, a prominent web-based design platform famed for its affordability in comparison to other programs that require an annual subscription, is under fire from customers after announcing a massive uptick in its prices for the Canva Teams package. The increase, which is more than 300% sometimes, has sparked outrage among users who relied on the platform as a budget-friendly alternative to Adobe.

Customers who received notifications last week were stunned to learn that their annual multi-user subscriptions would see drastic jumps. One user shared an email revealing that his plan, previously priced at $119.99 per year, would rise to $300 starting December 8, with an eventual leap to $500 after a “discounted” 12-month period. The backlash was swift, with many users expressing frustration and reconsidering their loyalty to Canva.

As the platform navigates this wave of discontent, it remains to be seen how many customers will stick around or seek out more affordable alternatives.
