FDA Recalls Popular Baby Formula
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Sunday, the recall of baby formula due to potential contamination. The formula in question is produced by The Perrigo Company which is voluntarily recalling lots of its “Gerber Good Start SoothePro” 12.4 oz. Powdered Infant Formula.
According to AWG (Associated Wholesale Grocers), several independently-owned supermarkets in several states have received a batch of said formula. These states include: Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, and Alabama.
The potentially contaminated formula currently being recalled was manufactured between Jan 2nd and Jan 18th of 2023.

The FDA press releases states that the formula may be contaminated with a bacteria called “Cronobacter sakazakii.” Most people who come into contact with this bacteria do not develop symptoms. But infants under two months old or premature or ones that have a weaker immune system may get sick. The symptoms include fever, poor feeding, excessive crying or low energy.
The FDA advises those who purchased the product to stop using it immediately and to dispose of it.
