X to Change Blocking Feature, Allowing Users to See Posts of Those Who Blocked Them
In a controversial move, X (formerly Twitter) is reportedly planning to modify the “Block” button in a major way that is set to have repercussions on many users. The users will be able to see any posts made by whoever blocks them as long as they have public accounts or their tweets are not protected and kept to their followers only, the difference is that the blocked person can’t interact with the content or engage in any way but will still be able to see everything.
X’s owner, Elon Musk, seemed to confirm the update in a response on the platform, where he appeared to endorse the change. The decision was met with strong pushback, as users voiced concerns over privacy and online safety.
The alteration signals yet another shake-up under Musk’s leadership, leaving many users questioning how this will impact the platform’s dynamics. Critics argue that this shift could undermine one of social media’s most crucial personal boundary tools.
