Research Warns of Impending Recession Despite Upcoming Fed Rate Cuts

Investment research firm BCA Research is bucking the optimistic trend by predicting a recession is on the horizon for America. While many believe the economy is stabilizing, the firm argues that anticipated Federal Reserve rate cuts won’t be enough to keep the nation afloat.

Among their concerns is the “deteriorating” U.S. job market. Recent data from the Labor Department revealed an uptick in the number of people who are unemployed reaching 4.3% in July, that percentage is the highest its ever been since 2021. Adding to the gloomy outlook, U.S. exports also hit a low during the past eight month period. BCA Research’s cautionary stance suggests that economic headwinds may be stronger than many expect, with challenges ahead despite policy interventions.
